'INCONSISTENT' is a mixed media work. It is the regulation ACEO size 2.5" x 3.5" and is presented on ultra-smooth white card. This design is an original pen and ink drawing with artist fine-line pen and professional artists' pencils and plenty of TLC!
This piece has also been sprayed with a light fixative for protection and longevity.

What are ACEOs???? ACEO is the acronym for "Art Cards Editions and Originals". An ACEO is a small piece of art that can be defined by it's convenient 2.5 x 3.5 inch size. (Standard trading card size) ACEOs are VERY different from trading cards however, because they are CREATED and traded or sold by artists. All my ACEOs are absolute ORIGINAL pieces of art! (Some artists choose to sell prints of their work -'editions' ) ACEOs are created in any medium available in the art world. Artists are creating them in ALL kinds of styles and varieties. There are no rules limiting the artist, outside of the size dimensions. ACEOs can be framed, propped, used as bookmarks,grouped together in larger frames......use YOUR imagination! Work in Progress....

Hmmm...been a bit quiet here lately, I better let you all know what I have been up to !
Most importantly I took last weekend off and went to stay with my gorgeous cousin whilst enjoying a bit of a shopping spree! That out of my system and truly relaxed and refreshed, I have returned to finish preparing for a really exciting event beginning this weekend at Seiner's Bar in Perranporth, Cornwall. The Spring Art Exhibition begins this Saturday and I have been invited to exhibit-yey! I have some new paintings ready for the show so will update this week here on my blog with some 'in progress' photos, followed by shots of the completed pieces and then hopefully some photos from Saturday's launch night-very exciting stuff! This photo is a snippet of the first layers of a mixed media painting entitled 'Steeped in Inspiration'....I am so pleased with this, can't wait to share the whole thing :) More tomorrow!

TRANQUILITY mixed media original canvas painting

Sides are fully painted in rich matt black as part of the work so a frame is not necessary.

Wrist Corsage

I am delighted to be offering for sale this totally funky fiber art handmade flower wrist corsage.
These are available in a host of stunning colours ( do contact me if you cannot see the shades you are looking for, I am happy to oblige!)
These lightweight flowers are attached to a soft cotton jersey band-roughly 7 and 1/2" to 8" in size to fit over most hands.
I have had so many compliments wearing one of these -and my daughter (18) has also been eagerly snapping them up, for herself and friends,so they really do appeal to all types and ages!
This design has three gorgeous mini flowers, each flower is (approx)3cm (1"+) diameter.

I have been busy on a series of new works this month-this is one of them,finally completed today, I really enjoyed creating this piece!

Blue Angel-mixed media painting

This painting is mixed media and is entitled 'Blue Angel'.
It is created on 12"x 28" x 1.5" block gallery wrapped canvas (staple free sides) using acrylics,graphite,collaged papers(under-layers) and oil pastel.
Lightly glazed with a semi gloss professional artists varnish to protect and seal,the sides are fully painted in soft black so this piece is ready to hang without the need for a frame ( or of course can still be framed should you choose to do so!)

Fabric Collage Album-new design!

This album was created using fabrics and papers with stitchery and vintage image embellishments. The style is very much grunge/shabby chic,with layers of yummy fabrics,many of them uniquely hand dyed by me, and papers,raw and torn edges and uncut threads-do not assume from this design style that it is loosely stitched however, it is firmly finished,and whilst designed to fray,the edges have been finished to prevent too much unravelling-it is very much designed to be handled!
The front cover has a beautiful butterfly,hand-transferred onto calico fabric and poetry quote,also delicately hand transferred onto fabric,all collaged together with lace and button embellishments.There are ten pages inside, (not including the front cover and back cover) all embellished with lace,fabric,vintage photos and embroidery,filled with loads of scrummy handmade tags,made using papers,beads,fibres and all manner of stitch and fabrics,tucked into pockets,the sweetest miniature embroidered fabric booklet ( see photos-embroidered 'Play,Live,Love ) , -and still plenty of space ready for you to add all your precious mementos,letters and photos to create a personal album!
Album is one of my larger designs,and measures ROUGHLY 8" square and approx 1-2" thick.
I'm not sure that my photos do it justice!It is hard to convey the textural appeal of these lovely fabric collages-this has to be one of my personal favourites so far!

The Lady Amber

I just had to share this work with you-she is a commissioned work,so not available, but was just completed this week and I almost wish now I could keep her with me a little longer!
This is The Lady Amber. A fiber art doll,one of a kind around 13" tall in her (permanent) seated position. Textile work is a long and often fiddly process and I have had to put her aside at times to create other things,so the journey has been a couple of months from start to end, but I am pleased with the result!

All Things Nice

Created in a quirky whimsical style,this piece is entitled 'All Things Nice' and includes collaged script and papers,vibrant inks,paints,oils,a variety of collage techniques and just a few golden highlights. Sides are fully painted a soft charcoal/black as a part of the work so there is no need for a frame (unless you prefer of course!) -can hang it as soon as it arrives!
The work is glazed with a semi gloss varnish to enhance the vibrant colours and seal and protect the work.



A gorgeously quirky,uplifitng and textural piece,this would make an interesting gift and a wonderful addition to any art collection!

Mixed media altered art paperbag album currently for sale in my store HERE. This is such a lovely inspiring work,packed with vintage images and tags but still with plenty of pockets and openings ready for you to add your own journalling and mementoes.Scrummy,tactile and appealing,this lovely work of altered art was NOT created from a kit,but designed and made by me using 3 altered ( unused!) kraft brown paper bags bound together with pretty checkered grosgrain ribbon.Ten pages,plus various large and small pockets,and front and back covers,all begging to be further embellished and decorated.
