California Redwoods by Griselda Tello
I finally finished one of my Redwood paintings, it took me forever and have to confess that in between I did some polymer faces and menial chores just to avoid finishing this painting (one of 3) but now I am well on my way and ready to finish the other two.
I love painting with oils, nothing can compare to doing this type of work. I feel very proud of myself.

BELTANE MOON
Spirit Dolls
I love the month of May and for me this is the time when Mother Nature shows herself in her most glorious way, abundant with flowers and new growth. May Eve is also a time to remember the old festivals of Beltane, (Full Moon rituals) in which fertility for the land was celebrated with the sacred fire in the hilltops and fields. A time of sensuality and freedom.
Where I will be listing several Beltane Moon Dolls.
Happy Spring Time to you. Griselda

California Redwoods by Griselda Tello
The Coastal Redwood of California is the world's tallest tree and one of the oldest. These majestic trees, stand alone as sentinels in time, they need our protection!
"In the end, we conserve only what we love. We will love only what we understand. We will understand only what we are taught."
- Baba Dioum, Senegalese poet
I am currently working on a series of Redwood scenes which I will be posting here as soon as they are ready.
All paintings and other works of art are my own originals.

This Northern California landscape is an original oil painting on a gallery-wrapped canvas (the sides are finished off in dark brown acrylic) and can be hung with just a nail—no need to frame. TREE DRYADS, SPIRIT ART DOLLS
I have been so busy I have not been able to catch up with my blog. I know that this is supposed to be a diary of what we do, so please forgive me if you come back and see the same old thing. I list most of my new dolls in eBay, others in ArtbyUs so the safets thing is to go to my site The Art Spirit Gallery where you can find all these links, or simply email me, I am always happy to answer any questions.
I am leaving you with my latest creations, I hope you enjoy my work and take one home, these little dolls make great companions.
These are my interpretation of Tree Spirits, In Greek mythology, the dryads were spirits in nature (female nymphs), who preside over the groves and forests.
Acording to the legend a dryad is born with a certain tree over which she watches. The lives of the dryads are connected with that of the trees; should the tree perish, then she dies with it.
Some believe that Dryads place gifts on a special branch alongside the pathways for individuals who love trees. Dryads clone themselves into these pieces of wood with the intention to help the human partner while at the same time to acquire the means to see the world without being rooted to the ground and to learn more about human evolution.
I love to think of my little Tree People as my contribution to those who love Mother Nature.

:: Why use handmade soaps?
Glycerin is produced during "saponification" – the process in which fatty acids are converted into soap. Glycerin is a humectant – it attracts moisture – and is removed during most commercial soap-making processes, reserved for use in more expensive products such as lotions or cosmetics. Well, I don't believe in that, so all of the glyecerin is kept in the bars of soap I produce which are made from food-grade oils. This results in a gentle soap which retains many additional constituents which are nourishing. Unfortunately, we in the US have been conditioned to regard high-lather capability with "good" soap but lathering often results in a harsh soap and lab-created chemicals such as lauryl sulfate (detergents) are added to many commercially-produced products (which the FDA does not allow to be labelled as soap) to provide such "super-lather." My soap formulations attempt to strike a balance between creating a nice, satisfying discernable lather and providing a gentle skin-pampering soap. Cruelty-free, no animal testing (except by me and those I know) & biodegradable.
