I painted this baby llama today. This is a sold aceo oil painting. Reference photo taken by Pat Otten.
I've been doing quite a few aceo's lately, and I am starting to want to go a little bigger, or alot bigger...well, bigger anyways.
This weekend we are going up to Duluth to see the big sailing ships come in. I am hoping to get some good reference photos for future paintings. Wish me luck.
Look closely, can you see the critters hiding in the garden?
Painting with fabric, black cotton for my canvas, recreated brush strokes with different sizes and colors of fabric squares, triangles and strips, broad brush here, tiny one there, snippets become paint spatters when sprinkled like confetti, cover it all with black tulle and quilt like crazy! 12" x 15.5"
For once, I also love the back of a piece. If I get tired of looking at the front I can turn it around and view the back for awhile :-)

8x10 inch, Acrylic on laminated mat board (this is 2 boards

Finally finished! I call this one Alaskan Memory, mainly because it IS an Alaskan memory of AlaskaRap! He very kindly allowed me to use one of his photos to create this wall hanging (if you haven't seen his photography you don't know what you're missing!!) Thanks again btw!
