This is the first of a new series I am working on.A more subdued and earthy palette for me. I've had a leaning toward earthy greens, burnt sienna..rusty muted colors this past month. Now this is a real change for me. These new paintings are all abstract expressionist..inspired by dreams, the seasons and full moons.
Oil on canvas 16"x20" matted

This is stunning! I've tended to lean towards the cobalts, jewel tones in much of my glass work and am desperately trying to break out of the colors and explore new ideas and designs in my glass work. For years I enjoyed the craftman style color palettes and then gravitated away from those in the jeweled tones. I am now working on a "mini transom" that is done in sunny and Van Gogh yellows. Do you find it difficult to break out of your personal color preferences to try something new and different? I'd love to hear comments from other artists on how they keep their art fresh, fluid and ever-changing. With gratitude, Laurie B.
This group of artists is very impressive!
